June Writing Prompts

Need writing ideas? Here are five writing prompts to get you through the month of May! Click over to the site to see them all!

On the first Monday of every month, I create a few writing prompts to help you get writing! You’ll see them here each month and on Instagram @thelexiconwritingblog every Monday.

Happy June! There are four Monday’s in June which means…four writing prompts! Like always, submit your stories to contact@thelexiconwritingblog.com and I’ll pick one winner each month to feature on the blog!

Here we go!

  1. A cat has a view of an apartment complex parking lot. What does it see on Tuesday afternoon?
  2. Write about your favorite childhood memory using only two of the five senses.
  3. Write about the first humans on Mars. What are their first impressions? How did they get there?
  4. Write a poem about your relationship to your mirror.

Each month you may submit your stories inspired by these writing prompts and I will pick one as the winner! The winner’s story will be posted on the blog with next month’s writing prompts. Please include your full name and a short bio with your submission. One story submission per person. All submissions due by June 30, 2016.
