March Monthly Writing Prompts

Story Prompts | Writing Prompt | Get writing this month | Writing Inspiration

On the first Monday of every month, I create a few writing prompts to help you get writing! You’ll see them here each month and on Instagram @thelexiconwritingblog every Monday.

Happy March! Spring is almost here! Although I’ll admit, I’m skeptical spring is on its way…there was snow in Portland this morning. Can you believe it?

There are four Mondays in March so that means four writing prompts. Have fun!

Here we go!

  1. You can control how fast or slowly time moves. Write a scene where you slow down time and write a scene where you speed it up.
  2. Use the following word prompt to create a short story: The Stuck Sticker in the Shoe
  3. Write about a forest waking up from winter.
  4. Write a 100-word story including the words “spring”, “squirrel”, and “old shoes”.

Cheers!
